Performance of Top 5 Carpooling and Ridesharing Apps on iOS in UAE Q1 2023

In the first quarter of 2023, the top 5 carpooling and ridesharing apps on iOS in the United Arab Emirates showed varying performance trends in terms of weekly downloads, active users, and revenue. Data from Sensor Tower provides insights into these trends.

Careem – rides, food & more experienced fluctuations in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 7.1K in the last week of December 2022 and ending at around 4.9K by the end of March 2023. Active users saw a slight decline from 49.3K to 41.9K over the same period.

Uber - Request a ride maintained a relatively stable number of active users, hovering around 130K throughout Q1 2023. Weekly downloads started at about 5.8K and decreased to roughly 3.4K by the end of the quarter.

Yango: taxi, food, delivery saw a significant increase in weekly downloads, particularly in early March, peaking at approximately 3.3K. Active users also showed a notable rise, reaching around 4.8K in the week of March 6.

Careem BIKE: Bike Sharing App had a steady presence with weekly downloads fluctuating between 1.1K and 1.9K throughout the quarter.

Bolt: Request a Ride experienced a slight decline in active users from 4.3K to 3.1K, while weekly downloads varied, peaking at about 1.6K in early March.
